AWAITING INHALE FILM
The Robbery of man’s Gift of life.
Dewayne Richards, a Nashville native, freelance photographer and serial entrepreneur makes his Debut as a documentary film maker. Richards, attempts with his first documentary short film to support the ongoing efforts of advocating against systemic racism, social inequality and promoting justice for African American citizens who have lost their lives to police brutality.
Inspired by the “I will Breathe Rally” held Saturday May 30,2020 in Nashville’s War Memorial Plaza, just a few blocks from the Historical Nashville Slave Trade Market, Richards attempts to translate the energy permeating the air during a peaceful protest that preceded the riots and burning of the Nashville Protest that made national headlines.

Amidst a global pandemic that claimed over 100,000 lives in the US in the first 12 weeks, several generations of protest participants defy a corrupt social justice system and demand that public servants who abuse their authority be held accountable.
The American Dream has been deprived from many of the peaceful protest , specifically people of color who have been the recipients of unfathomable hatred for the last 4 centuries . It is perceived that in a time when citizens are being told to stay 6 feet apart, people all over the world are being activated to share a breath, to stand up against racism and revive a dying people who have been begging for equality to be able to breathe freely.
Awaiting InHale will challenge viewers to recognize what has been going on all along in an attempt to prevent hundreds, thousands , millions of people of color from becoming a victim of negligence and ended up 6 feet under .
While watching , you may hold your breath in a subconscious attempt to skip towards a happy ending , we ask that you remember each person of color who was robbed of their last breaths and their gift of life.
May you discover your light and reveal the value in each breath you freely take.
